Fear of Public Speaking? What is it and where does it originate from?
It is actually not the fear of speaking in public, rather it is the fear of rejection or the fear of being judged, our sub-conscious mind has acquired anytime in life.
When a baby comes to this world, it needs acceptance from its little world around. This is the basic survival need of everyone. When this need is not met at any point in life, we never ever want to go through the same situation again.
- Remember, our mind is hard wired to take us away from pains and close to pleasures.
Hence, the point where we felt rejection or judgement first time in life, that bad feeling creates loop –
- A thought in our mind - Being rejected is an unpleasant / painful situation
- That thought gets converted into a belief over the time – If it can happen once, it may happen again. 'I will be rejected or judged'.
- That belief triggers an action from our mind – To actively work to avoid any situation which may lead to rejection or judgement from other people.
This predominantly includes any event that highlights us in public viz. Public Speaking and Socializing.
How to overcome this fear?
We need to find out the root cause of it, the situation where we first felt rejected or judged in life and then work from there. It can even be at the time, what we may not remember consciously in present, may be at birth or very little age after that.
Rapid Transformational Therapy delivers quick results to overcome any of these fears.
Its like, if there is a leakage in a pipeline, we find the damaged point and repair it from there, instead of mopping the floor again and again.
Can relate to it?
